I had really high expectations of this place. We ordered the mentaiko udon, tempura udon and yaki onigiri. The mentaiko arrived promptly within 10 min but, waiting another 15 min and I inquired about my very simple order. They brought out a lukewarm plain udon without tempura and very soft broken short noodles. it takes 25 minutes for the vegetable tempura is what they told me. And they even forgot the dipping sauce until I asked for it after I almost finished it. The only highlight was the tempura was actually very good. But the udon was horrible. Service was friendly the entire time but still there isn't an excuse for why it took so long and the broken noodles tasted like defrosted from frozen noodles are not worth the premium or additional costs. Oh yeah, yaki onigiri was also very bad as in it was undercooked and mushy inside.

Decided to try out Udon Mugizo since we were in the area. I personally had the tonkotsu udon. My mom ordered the niku udon. Tonkotsu udon was ok. Chashu was cooked well. Udon was ok. We tried to order the pork cutlet as a separate side order and they said they didn't have that option available. Soup was lukewarm. Definitely could have been hotter. The egg had egg shells still on it. Brought it up to staff and they apologized. Hopefully they can correct it for future guests. Niku udon broth was too salty. Overall, could have been better. Quite a bit of parking available on the side and in the back.

Another choice of eating udon. Easy to find parking, good service, and the restaurant is very clean. The food comes quickly, the soup is light and sweet taste, pretty good. The noodle texture is less chewy and does not have the sour after taste. One thing I don’t like was the chicken, it smell, not the rotten just chicky smell.

Sophie was our waitress, always cheerful, chatty and friendly. My second time here as I brought some friends from out of town with me for their first time. They loved everything about the restaurant, atmosphere, ambiance and especially the food! Piping hot, great quality and fresh entrees, our platter appetizer was very good too.

I visited the one in Mountain View first and loved it, so I was delighted to see one in San Jose when I was here. Ended up here for dinner. Because it’s a chain restaurant, I expected it to have the same quality of taste. It did. Udon Mugizo didn’t fail my expectations. This restaurant is bigger and more well decorated than the one in Mountain View, but still giving the same warm and cozy atmosphere. The restaurant was quite packed, so we waited for 10 minutes. The staff were fast and attentive though. And they were very polite. I even saw one bowing to customers when they left. For the food, great quality, as expected from an udon specialized restaurant. We ordered one Nabeyaki udon and one Niku udon. The broth was so warm and delicious. Both were very savory and big portions, too.

Best udon restaurant in the area! I got the spinach cream salmon udon and it tasted more like a pasta than an udon. I tried my friends' udons and they were all good as well, especially the cold udon. Service is fast and friendly. No wait time on a Monday evening.

I ordered the tempura curry udon, just a bit too slaty to my liking. But other than that, my noodles are good! My Tempura are fresh and crispy, my family also enjoyed what they ordered! The waitress was friendly and engaging, also very efficient. Very nice portion as well and I can’t finish my order! I would love to come back to try other items on their menu.

Friendly staff, my to go order took about 15 minutes so I would recommend to order ahead if you're in a rush. Togo containers kept the noodles and toppings separate which I really appreciated. Cold noodles was the way to go for a hot day. 100% recommend
